Michael Scott
Michael Scott is the former President and CEO and Vice-Chair of Apple Computer. He was the first President of Apple Computer, and later served as its Vice Chair. In an article by InfoWorld magazine, he is credited with âdistinguishing Apple from the other early personal-computer firms, turning it into one of the biggest success stories of the century.â Michael is an expert on colored gemstones and written a book on the subject. Part of his gemstone collection has been displayed at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California. Mike sponsored the RRUFF Project at the University of Arizona that was created to provide a complete set of high-quality spectral data of all known mineral species. To date the RRUFF Project has had nearly 700 million hits on the Internet. The mineral, Scottyite, is named for Mike.
